Family Resorts Victoria, Holidays with Kids | Victoria Beachcomber

If you asked your children at the breakfast table one Saturday morning where your next family holiday should be, chances are pretty good they’d shout out in unison: “the Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa in Mauritius”.
Ok . . . perhaps they wouldn’t have been that specific in their reply.
But the findings of a survey released in the United States earlier this month suggest they’d definitely be thinking along the lines of an exciting island getaway where they can swim and spend time with their friends and family in spacious accommodation.
And there’s no better place in the world that would take care of their every holiday wish than the Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa.
This magnificent four-star superior family resort, one of the most popular on the Indian Ocean island, is set in a 25-acre tropical garden in the north-west of the island country and stretches along a beach covering more than a kilometre, entirely sheltered from the winds all year round. The beach in front of the Victoria is about 500m long.
Renowned for its spacious sea-facing rooms, a laid-back atmosphere and a wide range of activities for both children and teenagers, the hotel encompasses a lifestyle to appeal to all ages.
It’s tailor-made for unforgettable family holidays and caters to a young child or teenager’s every whim, checking every possible box – and then some – on their holiday bucket list. This all-inclusive Mauritius package means that you and the family can do all the things you love to do together and make new memories as a family.
Victoria Holidays with Kids
Just under 50% of the more than 500 children and their parents polled in the 2017 Kidpinion Travel Survey said their favourite part of going on holiday was seeing a new place or trying new things.
New Adventures on Mauritius Family Holidays
Well, they need look no further than the resort’s new clubs for kids and teens – especially during school holidays.
From taking a trip on a glass-bottomed boat to fishing off a small line, there’s plenty of new things to try out. There’s are even dedicated coaches on hand to teach the youngsters to waterski or play tennis.
The newly constructed Kids Club for children from 3 -12 years old boasts excellent facilities and entertainment and is situated on the beach under a Bedouin tent.
It has a jumping castle and trampoline on the playground and is the base from which all the outdoor activities for kids are organised.
And if it rains, children can catch a movie in the indoor room and enjoy their dinner from the child-friendly Kids Club menu.
Switch on or Switch off During these Kid-Friendly Holidays in Victoria
Teens can switch off or stay switched on for their holidays – the choice is theirs.
They can play TV games on the Xbox or Wii. Or they log onto the wifi to check what their new-found friends are getting up to at the resort by checking out the new Beachcomber Tam Tam app on their smartphones.
The app (see screenshot left), only available at the resort, allows teens to upload their profile and interests and helps them to keep in touch wherever they are on the resort.
The latest happenings and meets are also posted by the resort’s entertainment team so there’s no excuse not join their mates for a party or a game of beach volleyball. It’s all part of the Teens Club.
When screen time gets too much (does this ever happen?), teens can play a game of pool or a game of table soccer to while away the hours.
And there’s peace of mind for parents knowing there are baby-sitters a call away, supervisors trained in first-aid and doctors in close proximity should their child get hurt.
The resort is popular for its spacious, sea-facing rooms that make it possible to accommodate couples with one to two children, according to the category of the room selected.
Victoria Beachcomber also has Family Apartments which guarantee space and privacy to all members of the family with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
In the low season between 22 April and 8 October, two children fly free on the MK Travel Smart Programme and two children under 18 stay free when sharing with parents in certain room categories. Children younger than six stay free all year round when they share with their parents in certain room categories.
Final Words on Victoria Beachcomber Holidays with Kids
The best unique holiday destination, according to those children who participated in the Kidpinion survey (29% of respondents), was going to a private island.
Given the crystal clear waters that gently lap the beach, the mesmerising sunsets and a list of exciting things to do that’s as long as your arm, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa in Mauritius was top of their holiday wish list – even if they don’t know it yet.
And best of all, it’s only a four-hour flight away . . .
